Getting Started with CrossFit WS

No matter who you are, you can get fitter—athlete, professor, fireman, parent, retired or busy; in shape, out of shape, super fit, bored with working out or can't get enough exercise.

Try something different. We'll coach you through ever-changing workouts that will challenge and thrill you. You'll work hard—and most likely, you'll exceed your expectations... no matter who you are.

Free One-hour Intro Session

Simply show up 15 minutes prior to any of our regularly scheduled classes (except all day Wednesday) and we will explain our CrossFit methology, do some required paperwork and get you started with your FREE one hour intro session. If, after your free intro session, you would like to continue your training at CrossFit West Seattle, we require that you start with our CrossFit Foundations classes consisting of three fundamental training sessions before deciding whether to join the CrossFit classes or continue with personal training. During these 3 training sessions, we cover, in depth, the basic skills required to become proficient at CrossFit. This allows new trainees to get comfortable with the skills and exercises used in our CrossFit classes.

Starting with the Foundations training sessions helps us put your safety and understanding first.

Your First Session

Your trainer will ask you about your exercise history, medical history, special interests and concerns. You'll start learning how to do the basic movements our drills are built on, and we'll give you a workout.

Your first workout might include three sets of exercises such as nonweighted squats, light medicine-ball throws, rowing, and/or basic barbell or dumbbell lifts. Later workouts might include push-ups, pull-ups, jumping, 400-meter runs, and/or more advanced and rapid free-weight drills. We have an ever-growing repertoire of new and old exercises, combined in ever-changing ways, and always tailored to suit your abilities.

Many of our favorite exercises are not used in mainstream fitness programs. If they are, it is usually not with the intensity that provides cardio and strength training together. Besides providing this efficiency benefit, our trainers combine these and many other exercises in endless variety.

Intensity and speed mean different things to different people. Every person can be surprised by what he or she is capable of with the excellent training our coaches provide.
